Overpopulation is an environmental issue where the number of existing human population exceeds the carrying capacity of Earth and where there are more people than can live on the earth in comfort, happiness, and health and still leave the world a fit place for future generations.

Causes of Overpopulation
Over population is caused by reduced mortality rate, better medical facilities, depletion of precious resources, more hands to overcome poverty, technological advancement in fertility treatment, immigration and lack of family planning. These prevents deaths so less people die and more people are born which overpopulates this world.
Effects of Overpopulation
The effects of overpopulation is: global warming, lack of natural resources, degradation of environment, rise in unemployment, high cost living. Even though the effects of overpopulation are mostly negative there are some positives for example : technology advances, relatively short growth in the global economy and better education on environmental issues and science in general.
Solutions to Overpopulation
The solutions to overpopulation are: making of family planning services available, tax benefits or concession, making birth control products more available, incorporating overpopulation in school, working with religious institutions and removing policies that reward big families. The one child policy can be helpful, but it can backfire as well because in China the gender they prefer is male so there are much more male than females which causes more single men which might lead to depression.
